Deleted my account

You can request deletion of your Tawana account at any time. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot usually be undone.

Before you delete

  • You will lose access to your account, including your profile, orders, shop data, and any saved settings.
  • If you are a Merchant, ensure that you have:
    • Completed or cancelled all active orders
    • Resolved any pending customer issues, refunds, or disputes
    • Withdrawn or settled any available balances
  • If you are a Customer, ensure that you have:
    • Received all outstanding orders
    • Resolved any open disputes or refund requests
  • If you have any pending payments, payouts, refunds, or disputes, we strongly recommend resolving them before requesting deletion.

Important: Certain information may be retained after deletion where required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or security purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Request deletion via Support

To request account deletion, contact Support at support@tawana.shop and include:

  • Your full name
  • The email address and/or phone number linked to your account
  • Your role (Merchant, Customer, or both)
  • Your shop name (if applicable)
  • Any recent order ID(s), if available
  • A short message: “Please delete my Tawana account.”

What happens after you request deletion

  • We may ask you to verify ownership of the account (for example, by confirming a code sent to your email or phone).
  • Once verified, your account will be scheduled for deletion.
  • Your data will be deleted or anonymised, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes.
  • You will receive confirmation once the deletion process has been completed.

What we may retain

Even after deletion, Tawana may retain limited information where necessary for:

  • Legal and regulatory compliance (e.g. tax, financial records)
  • Fraud prevention and security investigations
  • Dispute resolution and enforcement of agreements
  • System integrity and audit logs

This data will be retained only for as long as necessary and handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Changed your mind?

If you submitted a deletion request by mistake, contact Support as soon as possible.

If your account has already been deleted, it cannot be restored, and you will need to create a new account.
